HELLO

Welcome to our website. I am the founder and Senior speech-language pathologist in Words speech therapy. I began my journey as an undergraduate speech and hearing science student at Bangalore University in 2003. I completed four years of academic and clinical training in 2007 and started a two-year master’s degree in speech-language pathology in the same university. I became a master qualified speech-language pathologist in 2009.

I have worked with many children and families with various hearing, speech, language, and communication needs. I had the privilege to work in leading private hospitals, private intervention centres and schools in Sri Lanka.  I work as a visiting lecturer and research guide for undergraduate speech and hearing students at the department of disability studies, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Kelaniya.

My special interest is early intervention for children with autism and other developmental disabilities. Working in different settings and with a wide range of hearing, speech, language, swallowing difficulties had given me extensive knowledge and experience. Words speech therapy results from my motivation and determination towards providing quality and innovative speech therapy services to children in Sri Lanka.  Currently, I am pursuing PhD in Speech-Language Therapy, which is a giant step to achieve professional and academic career goals.

Go ahead and browse through the website to find out more information. You will also find great resources about speech-language disorders and valuable tips for parents who have children with speech delays.
