Assessments

Assessment is the initial step before beginning speech therapy. It involves understanding your child’s communication concerns, strengths, and weaknesses, which helps us to develop an effective therapy plan. The process typically includes an interview about your concerns, a detailed history of the child’s development, and observation of the child in either a structured or natural setting. If necessary, we may also gather information from teachers, other professionals, and family members to aid in our decision-making.

Speech Therapy

Speech therapy sessions always follow a detailed assessment.  A one-on-one speech therapy session lasts for 45-60 minutes. We collaborate closely with you to develop a range of specific goals that are part of your child’s therapy program. These goals are individually tailored to meet your child’s needs and will be discussed with you during the first speech therapy session. Achieving these goals is a collaborative effort with parents, utilizing engaging and fun-filled activities to ensure the best outcomes for your child.
